Spend the summer with horses!

Each summer, we offer day camps. We typically start on Memorial Day and have camp every other week through the summer. Camp is Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 1:00.

A typical day includes learning the horsemanship skills needed to prepare the horses for a riding session, then a group lesson in the arena and jumping field. After riding, campers are supervised as they take care of the horses to make sure that they are cool and comfortable. We then have snacks including our ever-present freezer pops.

A simple horsemanship lesson in the barn is offered for all levels of knowledge. Topics may include the parts of the horse, colors and markings, parts of the equipment, leg bandaging, mane braiding, and other grooming skills.

Our skilled lifeguard arrives at 11:00 to supervise swimming in our large backyard pool. Most campers bring a lunch to enjoy by the pool in the shade. On the last day of camp, Friday, we provide pizza and brownies among other treats for lunch.

Campers are encouraged to stay hydrated and wear sunscreen. Campers should wear long pants for riding and hard soled boots with a heel. I have a collection of certified riding helmets for you to borrow, or bring your own. Bring a swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, water bottle, and if desired, clothes to change into after swimming.
